Welcome to our August newsletter. It’s tax time, so this month we begin by looking at the legislation recently passed pertaining to the low and middle income tax offset (LMITO), we explore this, and also offer budgeting and spending suggestions if you have received or are expecting to receive a tax refund. We then provide you with a helpful checklist for reviewing your annual super statement, which you should be receiving soon.
Our animation video illustrates some of the main points regarding a rather complex area of tax – capital gains tax (CGT), and in the next article we explore the fact that interest rates are at a historic low, we discuss retirement in general, and also changes to the Age Pension deeming rates.
